Germany condemns "in the strongest terms" the terrorist attack on the Turkish consulate in Hannover

The German Foreign Ministry condemned "in the strongest terms" the attack carried out by supporters of the terrorist PKK organization on the Turkish consulate building in the German city of Hanover, according to statements by ministry spokesman Christian Wagner.

Berlin strongly condemned the attack carried out by supporters of the PKK terrorist organization on the Turkish consulate building in the German city of Hanover.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Christian Wagner said in a press statement on Wednesday: “We condemn in the strongest terms the attack on the Turkish Consulate General in Hannover.”

He added: "Regardless of the source of violence, it has no place in our society. This of course applies especially to those who enjoy special protection."

In response to the Anatolia correspondent, Wagner explained that they are in contact with the Turkish side regarding this issue, expressing his hope that the perpetrators will be identified as soon as possible.

The German Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that investigations are still ongoing, and that those responsible for the attack must be brought to justice.

Last night, supporters of the terrorist PKK carried out an attack on the Turkish Consulate building in Hanover with solid objects to break its windows, before fleeing after breaking the glass of its main entrance.

For its part, Ankara held the German authorities responsible for the security and safety of Turkish citizens and Turkish missions on its territory, according to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry earlier Wednesday.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in the statement: “Following the attack, the German authorities were contacted and reminded that they are responsible for the security of our citizens and diplomatic missions, and that they must not allow any actions aimed at provoking the Turkish community in Europe.”

She added: "It is clear that the actions of the PKK terrorist organization aimed at destabilizing the Turkish community in Europe are increasing. Thanks to the common sense of our citizens, these provocations did not turn into larger events."

The Turkish Foreign Ministry called on the concerned countries to have zero tolerance for provocations by supporters of the terrorist organization against the Turkish community in Europe and to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.
