During the Google I/O technical conference, Google revealed its latest generation of processors dedicated to working with artificial intelligence technologies.
The company indicated during its annual conference that the new sixth-generation Tensor processors, codenamed Trillium, were developed to work with data centers that process information using artificial intelligence technologies.
Regarding the topic, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, which owns Google, said: “The industrial demand for computers dedicated to machine learning has grown by a million times over the past six years and continues to increase tenfold every year. We have been pioneers in the field of developing artificial intelligence processors.” For more than a decade."
According to experts at Google, the new Trillium processors feature 4.7 times better performance compared to fifth-generation Tensor processors.
TechCrunch indicated that Google was able to develop the capabilities of the Trillium chipsets thanks to the use of (MXU) software, and also doubled the memory bandwidth in these processors compared to the previous generation Tensor processors.
