Donald Trump on Saturday raised eyebrows with a comment he made on a rally stage.

Trump spoke at an indoor rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where at one point he called Vice President Kamala Harris "a mentally disabled person." Trump also appeared to blame illegal immigration for a fly buzzing on stage.

At another point in the swing-state rally, Trump ranted against immigrants using a phone app, saying that "most people don't have any idea what the hell a phone app is."

In a discussion about illegal immigration, Trump, the creator of a social media app and site called Truth Social, said, "They have a phone app so that people can come into our country."

"These are smart immigrants, I guess, because most people don't have any idea what the hell a phone app is," Trump added.

The statement drew widespread laughter on social media, with the official campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris posting a meme with Trump's quote along with the words, "Okay grandpa let’s get you to bed."

An account on X entitled "Kamala’s Wins" wrote, "BREAKING: In a senile moment, Donald Trump just claimed that most people don’t know what a phone app is."

American former tennis player Andy Roddick said, "I feel like most people know what a phone app is."

Attorney and legal analyst Jeffrey Evan Gold also chimed in, saying, "Well most people with dementia."

Conservative Army Iraq War Veteran Peter Henlein quoted Trump and said, "1. It’s not 2004 any more. It’s 2024. 2. The guy owns a phone app called Truth Social. 3. The phone app he is talking about was developed and released by his administration. Just sad."

Republican accountability group American Bridge 21st Century said, "Trump's senior citizen status is showing. He openly admits he doesn't know how to use apps on his phone."
