John Schneider is best known for his role on The Dukes of Hazzard, a series that ran in the late 70s, early 80s. He hasn't really lost the persona though. Schneider played the role of Bo Duke, who with his cousin Luke Duke, ran an illegal moonshining operation, which made for plenty of storylines about bizarre antics to avoid the law. It was wildly popular in the stupid 80s, but died a natural death in 1985.
Unfortunately, it looks like Schneider never really outgrew the role of smart-talking idiot.
Last night on Twitter, President Joe Biden posted a tweet which said, "Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America's standing in the world."
"But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy," the tweet continued. "If we lose that, we lose everything."
Nothing in there is a lie. It's all provable from court filings alone, much less Trump's own Hitlerian rhetoric.
Has-been John Schneider decided to fill the role of hillbilly fool and replied with an almost-death threat to the president and his son, Hunter.
"Mr President," he wrote, "I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too." Note to Schneider: the proper use of the word is "hanged". But I digress.
"Your response is?" he continued, signing the tweet "Sincerely, John Schneider."
