Hiker plunges 45ft to her death after trying to retrieve camera gear that had fallen into waterfall

AN AUSSIE woman has died on a hiking trip with friends after attempting to retrieve her camera gear.

The hiker, in her 20s, slipped from a waterfall at the Lamington National Park while trying to get her tripod back.

Cops said the group had stopped to take photographs using the tripod when it slid down a slope.
