Hindenburg Goes Boom!

On May 6th,1937, which was the second of its trans-Atlantic crossings, the Hindenburg caught fire, burst into flames and was completely destroyed.

German dirigible, the largest rigid airship ever constructed. In 1937 it caught fire and was destroyed; 36 people died in the disaster.

And so endeth the dirigible airships.
