How Ukraine boosts its morale with football

Football is an intrinsic part of life in certain parts of Ukraine. On mornings when there are no air raids, kids play football outside the Kharkiv Metalist stadium. A group national of national guardsmen in Kharkiv recently gathered to watch Ukraine play against Slovakia at Euro 2024. Ukraine's victory in the match drew a more muted response from the soldiers than it would have during peacetime, but they were pleased nevertheless.
