THE world’s biggest farmer with hands like spades and a whopping height of 7ft 3in attributes his growth to drinking 10 pints of milk a day.

Sukhdev Singh is somewhat of a celebrity in his hometown of Fatehgarh Sahib in India.

The 36-year-old is believed to be the tallest man in the state of Punjab – a home to an estimated 31 million people.

The giant man towers over people at an impressive 7ft 3in tall in the country where an average height for a man is at 5ft 8in.

Sukhdev tips the scales at 29st 2lb too and has to wear size 25 shoes.

Growing up, he always stood out from the crowd, surpassing his peers’ height at a young age.

The farmer says his unusual growth spurt is down to a daily intake of ten pints of milk.

Although he believes his lofty height is “god-gifted”, it comes with its disadvantages.

Sukhdev cannot walk into a shop to pick out an outfit – instead, he has to order it to be specially stitched by a tailor.

Custom-made garments can also be a costly expense with each tunic requiring a whopping nine metres of cloth.

Shoes are another thing the man struggles with, having to get a made-to-measure footwear for his 17-inch long feet.

Apart from dressing, the farmer encounters problems when he wants to use any form of transportation.

Sukhdev is too huge to fit in a bus or a car as his head would probably stick out or hit the ceiling.

The man is forced to opt for a motorbike to get from place to place which he makes look incredibly small next to him.

But downsides of being too tall are sweetened by the fame and attention that Sukhdev enjoys.

He became a local celebrity with people often stopping him on the street to snap a selfie.

Some even travel from afar for a chance to take a photograph with the giant man.

Sukhdev might be the biggest farmer, and perhaps the tallest man in India – but he hasn’t beat the record for being the tallest in the world.

The title holder of the Guinness records is a Turkish man, Sultan Kosen, who stands at 8ft 3in.

He previously revealed that as a youngster he had a tumour affecting his pituitary gland that caused him to suffer from gigantism and acromegaly.

Sultan is one of only ten confirmed cases in history of someone growing 8 feet or taller.

Brahim Takioullah, from Morocco, and Morteza Mehrzad of Iran tie for second tallest living man at 8ft 1in.

Around 50 living people have been measured at 7ft 5in or above.

Sultan took the title of world’s tallest living man in 2009 when he was 8ft 1in aged 26. He has grown another two inches since then.

The tallest man ever was America’s Robert Wadlow, who reached an incredible 8’ 11.1”.

His exceptional size was caused by hyperplasia of his pituitary gland, which caused an abnormally high level of the human growth hormone.

It’s believed the Dinka people of South Sudan have some of the tallest people in the world partly because of their high milk intake.
