The US and UN will be advising Israel to end it now or risk conflict across the Middle East.

There is no doubt that without the help of the US and allies such as Britain, Israel’s defence would not have been so successful.

But privately, the Americans are furious Israel dragged them into this.

In an election year, President Joe Biden needs an escalating conflict in the Middle East like a hole in the head.

Iran’s military leaders say they do not intend to attack Israel again, unless provoked.

But Israel is briefing that a response to the missiles that got through will come in 48 hours.

They could hit Iranian targets in countries like Syria and Iraq. Or, they could strike inside Iran.

Then, PM Netanyahu would be walking into a Hamas trap to create a general war in the Middle East for the destruction of Israel.

In the long run, he may come to regret it.
