Media reported that India will allocate more than $1 billion to the “IndiaAI” project, which aims to develop artificial intelligence technologies in the country.
According to available information, the Indian Cabinet agreed to allocate about $1.24 billion to develop projects related to artificial intelligence technologies, including a project that aims to develop a supercomputer equipped with 10,000 accelerators, through which large programming languages (LLM) can be processed and artificial intelligence algorithms developed.
For his part, the Minister of Communications and Electronics of India pointed out that "investments in the fields of artificial intelligence will benefit Indian citizens and will contribute to the expansion of the Indian economy."
Within the framework of the “IndiaAI” project, educational courses focusing on artificial intelligence topics will be developed, and emerging companies working in this field will be supported.
The funds will be allocated under the aforementioned project over a period of 5 years, during which government applications will be developed and computing infrastructure in India will be developed.
In recent years, many countries have been working on developing artificial intelligence technologies to benefit from them in the medical, industrial, electronics development and other fields.
