ISRAEL has seized more than 42,000 weapons from terror group Hamas since the start of the war.

They fear the arsenal is just the tip of the iceberg after recovering AK-47s, rocket-propelled grenades, missiles, mines and anti-tank warheads.

The haul includes weapons used by Hamas monsters for the killing of 1,200 Jews on October 7.

Major Natanel of the Israel Defence Forces told The Sun the weapons were stored in apartment blocks, schools and hospitals.

He said a large number were secretly shipped into Gaza by Iran, North Korea and Russia.

The 41-year-old added: “We went from house to house.

“Weapons were stored in every single apartment block, flat, house.

“Hamas fighters could wander in off the street at any given moment and locate a weapon instantly.

“Behind the sofa in a living room we find explosives ready to blow us up.

“We find AK-47s on wardrobes, rockets in children’s bedrooms.”

Behind Hamas there are world powers, states with deep pockets and with vested interests

He went on: “It’s guerilla warfare. They’re in civilian clothes and can be everywhere.

“We have no way of knowing if the person we’re looking at is entering a building to collect an assault rifle, an RPG or a missile.”

He believes the true number of weapons stashed could run into the hundreds of thousands.

And he said: “Most shocking was where it came from. Iran, North Korea, some AK-47s were Egyptian, Syria, Iraq and Russia.

“Behind Hamas there are world powers, states with deep pockets and with vested interests.”

Israel previously claimed Iran supplied thermobaric grenades for the October 7 attacks. Iranian-made mortar rockets and North Korean RPGs were also recovered.
