Israeli forces appear to withdraw from Jenin refugee camp in West Bank

Israeli troops appear to have left the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank after a devastating, more than weeklong operation to search for Palestinian militants. It was not immediately clear whether the withdrawal was permanent or a temporary bid to regroup forces, or whether Israel was also withdrawing troops from the Tulkarem and Al-Faraa refugee camps. All told, the operation is the Israeli army’s deadliest in the territory since the start of the Gaza war with Hamas and has left dozens of Palestinians dead.
