British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak justified the joint air strikes with the US against Houthi military targets in Yemen, deeming it a "required and balanced measure in self-defense." These US-led strikes mark the initial response to the Houthi militia, which commenced targeting international shipping in the Red Sea since November 2023. The UK ministry of defence (MoD) reported that RAF Typhoons executed two precise strikes on Houthi locations. These included an airfield utilized for launching drones and missiles over the Red Sea, as well as another site employed for the launch of attack drones.
