The Public Prosecution in Libya released journalist Ahmed Al-Senussi on Sunday evening, after he was arrested and detained for three days by the Internal Security Service, without an official announcement of the reason for the arrest.
Al-Senussi was released after he was referred to the Public Prosecution by the Internal Security Service in Tripoli.
A photo of him with his friends after leaving the prosecution building was spread across social media.
The Internal Security Service had detained Al-Senussi last Thursday for publishing documents related to corruption cases in the Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Libyan Government of National Unity.
His arrest sparked a wave of condemnation in Libya and from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, in addition to a number of political figures, activists and civil society organizations, all of whom demanded his immediate release.
