North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter led the exercises of the North Korean army's airborne forces.
Kim Jong-un was accompanied in the exercises by Secretary of the ruling party's Central Committee, Park Jong-chun, as well as leaders of the Korean People's Army, including Defense Minister Kang Sun-nam and Chief of Staff of the Army Lee Yong-gil.
The North Korean News Agency stated: “The exercises aim to verify the paratroopers’ readiness for mobilization according to any emergency plan in wartime, and to evaluate their practical skills in conducting various combat operations.”
The photos show Kim with his daughter at the observation center, where he received a report on the training plan for the Airborne Forces.
During the exercises, soldiers carried out an amphibious landing on a hypothetical enemy position.
“The soldiers are clearly prepared, not only ideologically and politically, but also militarily, technically and physically,” Kim said.
Kim Jong Un noted that the main factor in the success of the exercises is the high qualifications of the personnel responsible for them and ordered further implementation of intensive military exercises in order to comprehensively enhance the combat capability of the army.
