Lawyer denies Hasto ordered Harun Masiku to soak cellphone

Jakarta - The legal team for PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto denied that his client ordered Harun Masiku to submerge his cell phone during a sting operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"It is not true that Mas Hasto ordered the cellphone to be soaked," said Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy to reporters after the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN), Thursday.

Ronny said this in relation to the KPK's statement that Hasto Kristiyanto asked Harun Masiku to submerge his cell phone during the KPK's OTT.

In the decision from the Supreme Court (MA) that he received, there were two people who ordered Harun to soak his cellphone.

"Finally, in the verdict, it was stated that the witness was ordered by the two people to tell Mr. Harun to soak his cellphone. This is already in the verdict," he said.
