- LinksDAO has disclosed its intention to launch a community token called LINKS on the Base blockchain.
- Additionally, LinksDAO has partially acquired the Hillcrest Golf Course in Kansas City after earlier purchasing a Scotland-based golf club.
Crypto golf organization LinksDAO has announced that it is launching a new community token called LINKS. According to the report, this asset would be officially unveiled in the coming months on the Base blockchain. Further analyzing the release, we found that this latest announcement underscores the company’s efforts to shift from its original NFT focus to the current market trend.
As recently mentioned in our news brief, the overall sales in the NFT market have recorded a 38.97% decline month-on-month, bringing the total transactions to $340.47 million. Regardless, the Azuki and Milady NFT collections are doing well.
As also featured in our recent coverage, the Azuki collection recorded a trading volume of $29.3 million. This represented a 106% surge from the previous week ending January 19, 2025. Similarly, Mad Lads NFT just reached $186 million in market cap according to our recent update.
LINKS Distribution Plan
Based on the distribution plan, one-third of the token’s supply would be allocated to the existing LinksDAO NFT holders. Meanwhile, members and other NFT communities, such as Pudgy Penguins and Bored Ape Yacht Club, would only receive a smaller portion of the supply.
In the report, it was highlighted that the asset’s compliance with regulations and its connection with the golf culture would be reflected in the LINKS token. According to the head of community and co-founder Cooper Sherwin, the current plan is for every golfer to have LINKS tokens in their wallets.
Commenting on this, LinksDAO founder Mike Dudas highlighted that the initiative is “embedded in the game of golf.”
We are going to be launching a community token that has deep culture, that’s embedded in the game of golf, that’s embedded in the community, and that’s permissible under the fucking regulations that we have to deal with.
LinkDAO partially Acquires a Golf Course
In addition to this groundbreaking announcement, LinksDAO has disclosed that it has partially acquired the Hillcrest Golf Course in Kansas City. Based on our research, this is its second acquisition after initially purchasing a golf club in Scotland.

The current deal involves a partnership with Robb Heineman, the owner of the city’s Major League Soccer team. According to the report, LinksDAO would obtain a minority stake and board seat in the company.
LinksDAO is widely known for raising $10 million through NFT sales in 2022. Its original tokens also reportedly provide holders with several benefits, including governance voting rights and access to the LinkDAO’s future crowdfunded golf club. Holders would also have access to the digital community.
Currently, its membership has increased to 7,000 members across 40 countries. However, 80% of them are based in the US. In the recent meeting to announce the token launch and the course acquisition, 200 members were reported to be in attendance.
