A ONE-OF-A-KIND flying boat known as “The Icon” has gone up for sale after being dubbed an “architectural spectacle” – but it’ll cost a whopping £2.1million.
The luxury boat is made almost completely out of glass and despite being regarded as one of the quietest boats to ever grace the waves it does come with its own legendary soundtrack.

This is because of its incredible links to famous score composer Hans Zimmer.
The Hollywood superstar has produced tracks for some of the biggest blockbusters in history including the Lion King, James Bond flicks and even all three Dark Knight, Batman films.
But his latest project is on the aptly named “The Icon” as he gave his hand to giving the boat its own soundtrack for guests.
The soundtrack has been specially crafted to follow the luxurious nature of the boat’s look and feel as it changes based on the functionality and drive note, report What’sTheJam.
Other stand out features for the 2023 Tyde yacht include the fact it is the first battery-powered marine craft of its kind.
It can also reach sauntering speeds of 27 knots (31mph) and can easily fit eight passengers on board the 43ft beauty.
The auction listing describes The Icon as a “foiling electric yacht which presents a unique opportunity to acquire what can only be described as an architectural spectacle”.
Another impressive addition is the BMW i3 batteries that have been included.
The six 40kWh batteries combine with two 100kW electric motors to help power the boat by converting it into nautical power, speed and range.
Despite all these great interior features, the outside of the boat is where a potential buyer will become the most invested.
The cabin is covered in glass all around which has been cleverly done to “promote a continuous connection to the water”, says the auction listing.
As the furniture has been uniquely designed to perfectly reflect sunlight off the grainy metal to make the shadows look like waves.
There is even a glorious 14ft 9in swimming platform on board for guests to enjoy before they get their sea legs.
The boat is expected to be selling for upwards of an almighty £2,140,000, according to Yacht World valuations.

The listing says: “Built by German start-up TYDE and penned by BMW’s Designworks, its stated mission is to ‘disrupt the luxury leisure world’.
“Designed from the inside out, the idea is to redefine the concept of luxury living by giving passengers the space, light and views to enjoy the unique sensory experience of flying above the water in a near-silent foiling boat.
“This ethos is extended to the swim platform on the aft, which spans 14ft 9in and creates an exceptionally spacious entrance to the cabin.
“Step inside, and the interior of the yacht has good head heights thanks to an ‘origami’ style design which allows passengers to remain upright across the cabin.
“The cabin, separated into two lounge areas with a BMW-designed helm station, features rotating helm seats that allow the space to function either as part of the social area or independently.
“At the centre of the helm station is a 32 inch touch digital control unit with 6k resolution that has been designed to look and feel like the BMW iDrive operating system, with voice control also integrated into the system.”
It is currently being kept in Dubai and is being sold by a private seller.
