MADELEINE McCann suspect Christian Brueckner had a lover waiting outside the Portuguese apartment he snatched a child from, it was alleged in court.
The German paedophile, 47, appeared with the youngster – feared to be Maddie – surprising the female accomplice who had gone on a break-in with him.

The claim was made in court by an ex-Brueckner cellmate, who also claimed Brueckner operated as part of a bigger organisation and was PROUD as he boasted of the alleged snatch.
The testimony is expected to be backed by a German FBI agent on Friday, who interviewed Romanian Laurentiu C – who was behind bars with rapist Brueckner in 2020.
Laurentiu told the court: “There was another person with him – his lover – they got into a fight and they separated there.”
He added: “You can see in a face of a person if he is lying. But he told the truth in that moment.
“Christian was very proud of his doings and as if he was living through them again while telling about it. He told all so detailed.”
“I am afraid of Brueckner now because somebody said to me I will be stabbed in my back, he added”
“He told me that he has somebody outside who can organise money – in connection with the burning down of the big house.
“He said it that way, that not only one person is standing behind CB, but a whole organisation.”
Earlier this year The Sun revealed Brueckner had allegedly been part of a paedophile ring in Portugal around the time Maddie vanished.
It was alleged in court a woman who looked after vulnerable children would provide him girls in exchange for DIY help.
Laurentiu also alleged in court Brueckner asked him if DNA from a child can be taken from bones under the ground, it was claimed.
Madeleine, three, vanished in May 2007. Brueckner is on trial for separate sex offences.
