Dozens of civilians, most of them children and women, were martyred and injured, Thursday morning, as a result of the Israeli occupation forces targeting a school housing displaced persons affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah announced that the number of martyrs of the Israeli air strike on the school had risen to 37 martyrs, while the Director of Communications at UNRWA told Reuters that the number of martyrs ranged between 35 and 45.

Earlier today, local sources confirmed that the occupation forces targeted the “Al-Sardi” preparatory boys school in the Nuseirat camp, which houses thousands of displaced people, which led to the martyrdom of at least 32 citizens, most of them children and women, and the injury of dozens, including serious cases.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army claimed that its planes bombed a compound tonight under the pretext of “the presence of Hamas members” inside a school affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the camp.

He claimed in a statement published by his spokesman, Avichay Adraee, on the X platform, that “many steps have been taken to reduce the possibility of harming civilians,” as he claimed.

This came after the government media office in Gaza said that the occupation committed a “horrific massacre” by bombing several rooms housing dozens of displaced people in the “Nuseirat Preparatory Boys” School in the Camp 2 area in Nuseirat.

The office reported that the bodies of 27 martyrs and dozens of injured people arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital following the massacre, a toll likely to increase. He said that the Israeli occupation and the American administration bear full responsibility for these crimes against humanity and against international law.

He added, "The Israeli occupation's continued perpetration of these massacres is clear evidence of its continued perpetration of the crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing against civilians and displaced persons in the Gaza Strip."

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces continued their raids on several areas in the Gaza Strip, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded, and massive destruction in the health sector, which has become unable to provide its services, due to the targeting of hospitals and the depletion and shortage of medical materials and staff.

The Israeli war on Gaza, which is about to enter its ninth month, has left more than 119,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed dozens of lives.

Israel continues this war, ignoring a Security Council resolution demanding that it stop the fighting immediately, and orders from the Court of Justice to stop its attack on Rafah, and take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and “improve the humanitarian situation” in Gaza.
