The Israeli occupation army penetrated, at dawn on Thursday, into neighborhoods south of Gaza City, coinciding with air strikes that targeted various areas, including homes, roads, and empty lands, resulting in martyrs, wounded, and displacement.
In conjunction with the incursion of the vehicles, the occupation army aircraft launched intense raids on the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Tal Al-Hawa, and Al-Sabra, targeting homes, roads, and vacant lands, which led to a number of deaths and injuries among Palestinian civilians, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses explained that the targeted homes belong to the families of "Daoud, Yassin, Abu Hawar, and Nasser."
They pointed out that Israeli helicopters and tanks opened heavy fire towards various areas of the Zaytoun neighborhood.
Witnesses reported that under the cover of this heavy bombardment and gunfire, Israeli military vehicles suddenly penetrated into Street 8 and the Al-Musalba area in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, while others advanced into the neighborhood on the outskirts of the eastern Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood.
The attacks resulted in the displacement of hundreds of Palestinians from the Al-Zaytoun and Tal Al-Hawa neighborhoods to areas north of Gaza City, according to witnesses.
This comes as the Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks and ground military operations in areas east of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, since last Monday, resulting in the displacement of more than 100,000 Palestinians from these areas to the southwest of the Strip.
The Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has left tens of thousands of Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and also despite the International Court of Justice demanding immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
