A lifeless 52-foot fin whale appeared unexpectedly on Pacific Beach in San Diego. Authorities and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) collaborated to address the situation. Efforts to secure the whale's tail to a small boat for towing back to sea were unsuccessful. NOAA researchers arrived to conduct an initial examination and determine the cause of death. The female juvenile whale showed no signs of propeller marks or vessel collision. The goal is to remove the whale promptly and conduct further examination to unravel the circumstances of its demise.
