Jakarta - The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia who is also the General Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri chatted intimately with former United States Vice President Al Gore while attending the World Leaders Summit on Children's Rights dinner at the Vatican, Sunday (2/2) evening.

According to a press release from Megawati's media team obtained on Monday, Al Gore greeted the speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives who is also Megawati's daughter, Puan Maharani. "Hello, I'm Al Gore," he said to Puan.

Smiling, Puan immediately extended her hand to greet Al Gore and immediately informed her mother, Megawati, of Al Gore's arrival.

"Hi, I've met you several times," Megawati said as she shook hands with Al Gore, recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to spread information about climate challenges.

Megawati and former Vice President Bill Clinton sat at the same table and had dinner together with the panelists and the Vatican host, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

Megawati and Al Gore were panelists at the World Leaders Summit on Children's Rights in the Vatican, Monday (3/2) local time.

At the event, world leaders who attended the banquet took turns giving short interviews to the World Leaders Summit on Children's Rights documentation team.

On that occasion, Megawati was also accompanied by her son M. Rizki Pratama, PDIP Treasurer Olly Dondokambey, PDIP DPP Chairman Ahmad Basarah, PDIP DPP Chairman Bintang Puspayoga, Professor of the Faculty of International Relations, St. Petersburg University, Connie Rahakundini Bakrie, Deputy Head of BPIP Rima Agristina and the Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia, Zuhairi Misrawi.
