The trailer of ‘Damsel’ on Netflix shows Millie Bobby Brown fighting a dragon. Damsel is a fantasy action movie about a young woman trapped in a deep, dark cave alongside a fire-breathing dragon.
This is not your typical fairytale since no charming prince appears to save her, leaving Brown’s character to save herself. Netflix recently released an official trailer for Damsel.
Damsel | Official Trailer
Damsel is the latest in a long series of TV shows and movies that challenge the “damsels in distress” cliche, and we are excited to see how the tough Princess Elodie outwits her captors.
Once stuck in marriage like a sacrificial lamb, the trailer depicts Elordie being carried and hurled off by her deceitful husband, who gently encourages her to close her eyes and trust him.
The rest of the trailer focuses on Elordie’s rising awareness and visions of former victims, all the brave and change-inspiring women, as the Queen had thoroughly hinted in a previous speech, which allows the realm to prosper with each generation.
Unlike previous trailers, the film’s monster enemy is finally seen as a terrible dragon that seems more intelligent and ruthless than the typical storybook dragons.
A dark take on the Princess being caught in the Dragon’s lair, the film will show Elordie’s transformation from a lonely victim in filthy, trailing clothes to a fighter in bare-minimum but modest clothing.
The film’s trailer emphasizes Elordie’s dual crisis. One is to escape from the grasp of the fierce Dragon and its seemingly indestructible hidden lair. And two, the golden-mask-wearing cult-like organization intends to sacrifice Elordie to the beast and the kingdom’s royalty, including her in-laws and her newlywed husband.
