Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung said he would coordinate with the Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati regarding the empty fuel oil (BBM) at private gas stations.
"I will check first what the obstacles are (in distribution), I will coordinate first with the Head of BPH Migas," said Yuliot when met at the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM), Jakarta, Friday.
However, he said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had given import approval to private gas stations (SPBU), considering that these private gas stations sell imported fuel oil (BBM).
"They import the fuel that is sold, and ESDM has given import approval to BP, Shell, and others," said Yuliot.
The statement was in response to the shortage of fuel stocks at several private gas stations, such as Shell and BP. The shortage of fuel stocks is suspected to be caused by distribution constraints.
Information about empty fuel stocks at Shell gas stations is being widely discussed on social media.
In the comments column of the official Instagram account shell_indonesia, netizens complained about the running out of stock of a number of fuels, such as the Shell V-Power Nitro+ type.
In addition to the comments column on the official Instagram account shell_indonesia, netizens' discussions on social media X (formerly Twitter) are also busy discussing the running out of Shell and BP fuel stocks.
The running out of Shell fuel stocks not only occurred in Bandung, but also in several other areas in Indonesia, such as Depok, Jakarta, and Surabaya.
