A BRIT who vanished in Tenerife four days ago had sent a last message to his mum before he went missing.

Kris Finney, 31, from Ramsbottom, Manchester, was due to meet his friend on the Spanish island but failed to show up.

Electrician Kris had flown to Tenerife last Thursday to meet his pal on holiday.

His last contact with his family was in the afternoon when he called his mum to tell her he had arrived but said his phone was running low on battery, his aunt Debbie Kenyon told MEN.

Debbie said that Kris had spoken to his friends at around 9pm and was last known to be in the Playa de las Americas resort on the island, near McDonald’s.

She said: “His mum got a text at 4pm from him, and that was the last we heard from him.

“According to some of his friends, they were speaking to him around 9pm that night.

“Since then, nobody has heard anything from him. He was supposed to meet up with his friend who is staying in a different hotel and never showed. We have phoned and sent texts that haven’t delivered.

“It was last night that we got the call from one of his friends saying nobody had heard from him for days.

“We’ve been trying to get hold of him and haven’t been able to – it’s not like Kris.

“He may sometimes not contact you for 12 to 18 hours but then he always reaches out. There was nothing we could do at that time of night.

“Today we have found out the details about where he was staying and have been contacting police in Tenerife and also our local police.”

The electrician – who works across Lancashire and Manchester – failed to meet up with the pal.

It is understood the young Brit was staying at Casa Natalia, in the Armeñime area.

Photos of Kris and details of his last known whereabouts have been shared on the Missing Persons Tenerife group on Facebook.

The man’s disappearance echoes the case of Jay Slater which made headlines across the world this summer after the teen went missing on the island.

The young Brit had left an Airbnb in the remote village of Masca hours after travelling there with two men he’d met at a music festival.

Authorities and volunteers conducted a massive search on the island with drones, dogs and a helicopter, for nearly a month.

But his body was tragically found after he fell to his death sometime after leaving the Airbnb.

A post-mortem conducted in the UK confirmed that Jay died because of traumatic head injuries, consistent with a “fall from height”.
