A BRIT who vanished after a trip to Thailand has been found safe after a mysterious two-week search that spanned 5,000 miles.
Simon Robinson, 27, jetted into Thailand for a solo trip on July 22, initially planning to stay until August 3.
He phoned his girlfriend on July 26 to let her know he was coming home early.
But until last night, he hadn’t been heard from since.
The Lincolnshire lad was initially thought missing in Bangkok, where he was last heard from, before family received information in fact boarded a flight to Finland.
He was then supposed to hop on a connecting flight from Helsinki-Manchester and never did – but now he has been found safe, his sister told The Sun.
She said she received a brief phone call from Simon, who said he was safe and well.
She told The Sun today: “Simon rang me and apologised. He’s okay thank God.
“He didn’t say [where he was]. I’m just so happy he is okay.
“I didn’t ask if he was coming back. I was just so relieved to hear his voice.”
An Instagram page dedicated to the search and run by one of Simon’s school friends celebrated the news.
“Best news ever!!! Thank you everyone so much for the support!!! Let’s get Simon home where he had been very missed.”
