THIS is the moment a ten-year-old child is kicked off a plane for “refusing to wear a seatbelt”.

The youngster had been politely asked to strap himself in for takeoff when he suddenly decided to throw a temper tantrum in front of horrified onlookers.

The bizarre incident took place on a short-haul Latam flight in Colombia, where the captain was eventually forced to vacate the runway and return to the gate.

The child is believed to have been travelling with his dad who did very little to help the situation, according to local reports.

Airline staff had continuously asked the boy to follow correct procedure and were eventually forced into taking drastic action.

It ended with the child being kicked off the flight completely, with the whole situation said to have lasted for over an hour.

Security eventually arrived on scene to deal with the matter.

In the video, a flight attendant can be heard making an announcement over the plane’s tannoy, requesting for the dad and son to disembark immediately.

“Dear passengers, we previously informed you that, if the regulations were not complied with, we could not start the flight,” explained the flight attendant.

“Now we are waiting for the passengers who do not comply with the regulation to please disembark.”

The boy was promptly escorted off the plane alongside his dad, who was slammed by fellow passengers for failing to keep his son in line.

Footage of the moment showed some people even yelling at the dad to “get off” the aircraft.

One woman, however, seemed to stick up for the pair, yelling that the child “has rights”.

It poses as just the latest incident of bad behaviour displayed on flights this summer.

Last month, a drunk Brit was arrested after brawling onboard his flight to Alicante and trying to open the plane’s door mid-flight.

Spanish cops were waiting on the tarmac and got the 28-year-old who was reportedly so intoxicated he didn’t realise the plane was still in the air.

It is understood the Brit had already been disturbing the other passengers with his drunken behaviour, reports Spanish newspaper Informacion.es

Just a few weeks before, two allegedly drunk holidaymakers were thrown off an easyJet flight.

The duo had reportedly boozed on duty-free vodka on the plane from Tenerife South to London Gatwick at 2am.

Video shows the pair being removed by three Sussex Police officers as their fellow passengers cheered.
