COLOMBIAN cops have arrested a Brit after finding two kilograms of cocaine smuggled under a Mexican sombrero in his suitcase.

Airport officials say the suspect was acting strange as he passed through luggage control before they searched through his bag and found a mysterious white substance.

The white powder turned a shade of blue when cops were called in to run a routine colour test inside Rafael Nunez International Airport in Cartagena.

The results indicated that it was cocaine.

The unnamed British suspect was trying to exit Colombia but ended up being arrested and thrown into jail.

Footage shows officers searching through a black suitcase which had a Mexican sombrero sat on top.

Inside they swiftly found a false bottom and cut it open to reveal the two kilograms of drugs.

The camera then pans over to the onlooking Brit in his Dsquared2 shirt and Under Armour body bag.

Officials say the man clearly stated the bag had not been touched by anyone other than himself before it was searched.

Officers handcuffed him as they ran the tests on the narcotics.

After confirming the illegal substances they laid the evidence out on a table and made the detained Brit pose for a photo.

Two large pouches can be seen in front of a blue sign reading “Cocaina” with another smaller white packet next to them.

Authorities say the British suspect was trying to board a plane to Panama before catching a flight over to Istanbul.

Investigators are now trying to establish the network involved in the smuggling and where the drugs were heading.

It is unclear if the Brit has appeared in front of a judge in Colombia yet.

He is expected to remain in custody for the time being as cops continue their investigations.

It comes as another Brit is currently being held in Colombia on a drug smuggling rap.

Ricky Courage, 32, was caught in South America last month and accused of attempting to fly out of Cartagena with two kilos of cocaine in his luggage.

Prosecutors claim he was trying to return to Scotland with the drugs before sniffer dogs picked up the scent.

He’s been remanded in the notorious San Sebastian Ternera Prison in Cartagena on the orders of a judge while he’s investigated.

The Sun revealed earlier this month that Courage is a notorious thug who once firebombed a police station.

Back in April, a British student was also caught allegedly trying to smuggle drugs out of Colombia – after cops found cocaine disguised as milk in his bag.

Fahad Uddin Ahmed, 25, was stopped as he tried to board a plane to London before cops found “10,000” doses of the drugs hidden in packets of powdered milk.

The detained man was led away in handcuffs with a grim look on his face by two uniformed officers.
