Multiple people were shot at Perry High School in Perry, Iowa, on the first day back to classes after winter break. The shooting happened before school started, so there were few students and faculty present. The incident occurred near where Republican presidential candidates were campaigning for the Iowa caucuses. Law enforcement arrived at the scene seven minutes after the active shooter was reported.
