A BRIT has been found dead at one of Majorca’s top golf courses after suffering a fatal head injury.
Cops are now investigating if the 61-year-old was hit by a stray ball or if he fell over on the Son Muntaner Golf Course after he mysteriously vanished from his pals.
The man died while playing a round at the Son Muntaner Golf Course[/caption]The unnamed tourist was found on Friday afternoon at around 5:45pm alive but in a “serious condition”.
Initial reports said the Brit was believed to have been hit on the head by a golf ball.
Officials are yet to confirm how the man died with an autopsy set for this weekend.
Emergency responders tried to revive the man after reaching the course after discovering he had gone into cardiac arrest.
Attempts to save his life, believed to have last around half an hour, proved unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Local reports said he disappeared whilst playing with a group of friends and going after a stray ball.
They are said to have gone looking for him and found him unconscious on the ground with a head wound after he failed to return.
Investigators from a local National Police Homicide Unit, who routinely probe any unexplained death in the infancy of a probe, have been tasked with trying to get to the bottom of what happened.
There has not yet been any official comment from the police force in charge of the ongoing investigation.
Son Muntaner is described online as a golf course that “offers both players and enthusiasts a unique experience they won’t forget.”
No-one at the course, situated between the ‘Na Burguesa’ mountain range and the bay of Palma, could be reached late last night for comment.
