Navalny aides says he has disappeared within Russia's prison system

Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny has been removed from the penal colony where he had been imprisoned since last year, and his current whereabouts are unknown. Navalny's aides were preparing for his transfer to a "special regime" colony, the harshest grade in Russia's prison system. His spokeswoman confirmed that Navalny is no longer among the inmates at the IK-6 facility. The timing of his disappearance coincides with the start of the campaign period for the presidential election.
