Netflix increases subscription fees in some countries







Jakarta - Netflix has raised subscription fees for its service, including ad-supported packages, in the United States, Canada, Portugal and Argentina.

The streaming service announced the price hike on Tuesday (1/21), along with a revenue announcement and an increase in subscribers by 18.9 million during the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a Variety report .

Based on the new pricing in the United States, Netflix's Standard plan without ads is going up by $2.50 or around Rp40 thousand from $15.49 (around Rp252 thousand) to $17.99 (around Rp292 thousand) per month.

The increase in the cost of the service package comes three years after Netflix raised the price of its Standard package, which provides two HD streaming services simultaneously.

Netflix's ad-supported subscription will cost $7.99 a month, up $1 from $6.99.

The subscription price for the Premium package with four simultaneous streaming services will be increased by two US dollars to 24.99 US dollars (around Rp. 406 thousand) per month.

The cost of adding an Extra Member to a primary account has increased from $7.99 to $8.99 (around Rp. 146 thousand) per month.
