For the first time in ten years, the volume of cocaine seized in Belgian ports is down. However, the market seems to be thriving since cocaine production is increasing in Colombia and prices per kilo in Europe remain low. Belgian authorities say less is being caught due to new techniques developed that make the drug undetectable. Thanks to chemical processes, traffickers manage to mix it with all sorts of materials, liquid, textiles or even metal.
