A teenage girl addicted to e-cigarettes reportedly suffered chest tightness that required her emergency hospitalization.
Tazmin Blight, 19, who smoked the equivalent of 50 cigarettes a day, was taken to hospital “believing she had a gastrointestinal disorder,” only to be told by doctors that a small air pocket (a small hole) had formed in her lung and burst, causing her to collapse.
Recently, her father Mark, from Egremont, Cumbria, revealed in a TV interview that her younger sister, Kayla, 17, had a similar experience just weeks before Tazmin suffered, with doctors saying e-cigarettes were definitely to blame.
Tazmin started using e-cigarettes when she was just 13 years old, and says she continued to smoke them even after her sister suffered a "terrifying near-death experience."
Her collapsed lung was discovered on June 29, while Kayla was hospitalized on May 11.
Tazmin admitted that she carried her e-cigarette with her “at all times.” Despite seeing firsthand the dangers her sister was exposed to, Tazmin “never believed” the same thing would happen to her.
She revealed that e-cigarettes have long-term effects and can happen to people at any time.
