Nibiru Successfully Concludes Codebase for Its EVM (Nibiru V2) Upgrade

Nibiru, a high-performance MultiVM blockchain, recently completed its upcoming Nibiru EVM (Nibiru V2) codebase. The blockchain attained this milestone after going through multiple rigorous security audits.

While Nibiru is renowned for its fast finality, a block time of less than 1.8 seconds, and robust security, it is looking to upgrade its network further to make it easy for developers to build and deploy smart contract applications interoperable across multiple virtual machines.

Unveiling Nibiru V2: The Nibiru EVM Upgrade

Following the successful code completion for the upcoming Nibiru EVM (Nibiru V2) upgrade, the blockchain is set to evolve better as an EVM-equivalent execution engine.

With this development, Nibiru will offer developers focused on Ethereum-based applications the opportunity to build on its blockchain and take advantage of widely used tools like MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet.

Unique Divine, Co-founder of Nibiru and CEO of Nibi, Inc., commented on this achievement, saying,

“This milestone marks a key step in the evolution of Nibiru. Smoothly launching an initiative like this is about doing small things right to make a big difference. Nibiru places a heavy emphasis on security for users and their digital assets. The audits and resulting mitigation changes help ensure that the new generation of apps on Nibiru will deploy in a secure and efficient environment.”

Notably, the Nibiru EVM codebase was completed after several assessments via rigorous security audits, which focused on the core L1 logic. Per the announcement, the audits commenced with a consultative security audit in October 2024 by Zenith, where Code4rena assembled a curated team of auditors tailored to the project’s specific codebase and needs. Nonetheless, the potential security findings from the audit were addressed after it concluded.

Moving on to the next audit, the team sponsored a competitive Code4rena audit in November 2024. This second audit expanded its scope to include Nibiru’s Ethereum JSON-RPC, the core L1, and the Nibiru EVM.

Apart from Nibiru V2, the network has also disclosed plans to release other products, some of which include a Uniswap V3 deployment by Oku, Astrovault’s cross-chain value capture DEX, tokenized private credit and T-bills, and Bridged USDC.

Following efforts to further enhance the scalability, decentralization, and user experience on Nibiru, the blockchain is planning to launch the “Nibiru Lagrange Point.” This unique innovation has been designed to offer a FunToken mechanism that seeks to unify EVM and non-EVM tokens without third-party bridges.

Other features of the Nibiru Lagrange point include Pipeline-Aware Reordered Execution (PARE) for higher throughput and optimized validator dynamics in NibiruBFT. It will also offer mempool lanes for orderly transaction flow.
