NORTH Koreans have been told to join a big push and collect human waste to fertilise crops.
Dictator Kim Jong-un wants a whopping 22lb of poo from each citizen.
It comes a month after the tubby despot sent balloons filled with faeces over the border to South Korea — apparently in response to the pooh-poohing of his regime.
His subjects are down in the dumps over the latest request as it is usually done in winter.
But dire shortages of imported fertiliser mean a summer collection has been introduced under Jong-un’s agriculture-first initiative.
Residents are complaining that they are being asked to dry their dung in their gardens in the summer heat.
But North Koreans can dodge the dirt draft by spending a few pennies.
One resident of Ryanggang province said opting out cost 5,000 won — about £4.50 — a large sum for many impoverished locals.
He added: “The neighbourhood watch unit issued an order to dry human waste.
“Residents could not hide their bewilderment.”
