Ofcom’s been quietly fattening its coffers, slipping past the radar with a hefty budget hike in their latest Annual Report. The watchdog splurged £187.6 million in 2023-2024—an extra £6.9 million compared to the previous year. A good chunk of that goes to the heavy-handed enforcement of the Online Safety Bill, with spending skyrocketing to £53 million from a mere £19 million in 2021-22.
