A DJ has revealed the “incredibly hard” moment he was told to keep playing amid the anarchy of the mass stabbing at a German festival.

Three people died after a knifeman on Friday night launched a frenzied attack that left several others seriously injured in Solingen, near Dusseldorf.

DJ Topic was playing while terror unfolded, and has now revealed he was told to continue to avoid “mass panic”.

In an Instagram statement, the DJ detailed how he had to push through an extra 10-15 minutes before music was stopped and the crowd was told of the horror.

He wrote: “Today I played at the 650-year anniversary of my hometown Solingen in Germany, and during my set, security personnel from the city came to me and asked me to please continue playing to avoid a mass panic.

“There were already people killed by a stabbing attacker.

“So I kept playing, even though it was incredibly hard.

“After about 10-15 minutes, the music was finally stopped, and the people were informed about the incident.”

With the attacker still on the run, Topic said he hid in a nearby store while police choppers circled above.

Armed cops launched a desperate hunt for the knifeman, with four of the injured eight said to be seriously wounded.

An arrest in connection to the stabbing frenzy was made on Saturday morning, with cops confirming in a press conference they had detained a 15-year-old.

But the teen was only arrested in connection with the incident as police continued a huge hunt for the perpetrator.

Festival-goers gathered for Solingen’s Festival of Diversity, which started Friday to mark the city’s big anniversary.

Some were stabbed at random in Fronhof market square about 9:45pm.

The three victims were confirmed to be a woman, 56, and two men, 56 and 67.

Cops confirmed it appeared “a very targeted attack” at people’s necks.

Prosecutors aren’t ruling out terror as a motive.

Cops earlier issued a statement on Saturday that said: “Both victims and witnesses are currently being questioned.

“The police are currently searching for the perpetrator with a large team.”

Police have said they have very little information on the suspect so far but believe the stabbings were carried out by a lone attacker.

Large numbers of officers are involved in the search, which extends beyond the city.

Roadblocks have been set up and special units have been deployed.
