PolkaBotAI Looks to Decentralize AI with OriginTrail and Polkadot

PolkaBotAI, OriginTrail, and Polkadot have announced plans to combine efforts to revolutionize artificial intelligence (AI) education through decentralization.

At the forefront of this initiative is PolkaBotAI, a Decentralized AI education hub on Polkadot, set to launch in the coming months with support from the Polkadot Treasury.

Addressing the exponential growth of AI alongside its inherent challenges, the alliance aims to establish a Verifiable Internet for AI, revolutionizing how knowledge is accessed and utilized in AI systems.

The Verifiable Internet for AI, proposed by OriginTrail, aims to mitigate the shortcomings of AI, including biases, intellectual property mishandling, and model collapses, by decentralizing knowledge utilized by AI systems.

It is important to note that OriginTrail has grown to become a key player in the Verifiable Internet for AI ecosystem, championing the cause of combating misinformation in the age of AI adoption. 

Setting itself apart from traditional generative AI approaches, PolkaBotAI implements a novel decentralized Retrieval Augmented Generation (dRAG) methodology. Leveraging the OriginTrail Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG), PolkaBotAI constructs responses using trusted inputs sourced from the wider Polkadot community. This approach ensures information provenance, respects data ownership, and enables users to verify each source and its issuer, instilling trust and reliability in the AI-generated responses.

At the heart of PolkaBotAI lies a collaborative ecosystem orchestrated by Trace Alliance, facilitating partnerships and knowledge-sharing within the Polkadot community. This inclusive framework empowers users of all levels, from novices to seasoned veterans, to actively contribute to creating a trusted knowledge base, thereby democratizing access to AI education.

Notably, the PolkaBotAI initiative received overwhelming support through an OpenGov treasury proposal, underscoring its significance in the AI education space. With approval secured on April 23, 2024, PolkaBotAI is poised to revolutionize how users interact with Polkadot’s diverse content, offering tailored learning experiences and precise responses online.
