RUSSIA’S foreign minister has issued a chilling warning to the West, claiming its “500-year domination of the world” is coming to an end.

In an address streamed today in Qatar, Putin crony Sergei Lavrov likened the war in Ukraine to Russia‘s past battles with Hitler’s and Napoleon’s armies – and said his country was now stronger than ever.

The 73-year-old, who is sanctioned by the UK and the EU, described the “hybrid war” that the West is supposedly waging against Russia as being based on “cancel culture”.

And he professed the West would soon see Russia has grown more powerful as a result of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Lavrov said: “In the beginning of 19th century, Napoleon assembled almost the entire Europe to attack Russia and we defeated him and we became stronger after that aggression.

“In the middle of last century, Hitler did the same. He put under his command most of the European countries to launch against Russia. He was defeated as well and we became stronger after that war.

“And the result of the war launched by the United States using Ukraine against Russia is already seen … the main result for us and for others by the way, who will feel this result later, is that Russia has already become much stronger than it was before these events.

“And this will be the case after the war has finished.”

When asked about the possibility of a ceasefire or peace between the warring countries, Lavrov said it was “up to the Ukrainians to recognise how deep they are in the hole where the Americans put them.”

He added: “You’ll have to call Mr Zelensky because a year-and-a-half ago he signed a decree prohibiting any negotiations with Putin.”

The explosive interview with Al Jazeera comes after the United States on Friday vetoed a proposed UN Security Council demand for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the war between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Lavrov addressed the conflict today, saying: “We strongly condemned the terrorist attack against Israel on October 7.

“At the same time, we do not believe it is acceptable to use this event for the collective punishment of the millions of Palestinian people with indiscriminate shelling.”

He said that for there to be “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza “some kind of monitoring on the ground” was needed.

Meanwhile, former Russian president and close Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev has predicted “new rivers of blood will flow” and claimed the globe hadn’t been closer to a nuclear World War Three since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

He lambasted the Biden administration’s attempts to force the US congress to approve more military support for Ukraine and said: “Never have they extorted so much money for a minor state [Ukraine] that is in the process of collapse.

“Never have they so aggressively and brazenly extracted money for a country that openly corrupted the current President of the United States and members of his family.”

It is understood the last statement was in reference to allegations of shady business dealings linked to Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, in Kyiv.
