Residents say Ethiopian soldiers kill over 50 civilians in Amhara town

According to three residents who spoke with Reuters, Ethiopian soldiers have allegedly killed over 50 civilians this week in the town of Merawi in the Amhara region. The killings reportedly occurred during house-to-house searches conducted following clashes with a local militia. These reported killings in Merawi seem to be one of the most devastating incidents of the conflict that began last July between the army and the Fano militia.
