Ben Fairbank, a global leader with over 20 years of experience, has directed the expansion of leading firms including Virgin, Ooredoo, and GRAB. But who would have guessed that his path in business would begin in a customer service center? Ben first looked for something more “serious,” then thought about working in a call center as a transitional step.

But since call centers are highly metric-oriented, he became in love with operations and numbers. His love of consumer experience and data collecting on consumer behavior drove him to become a field consultant, which eventually developed into corporate recovery and cultural change management.

Having lived and worked in twelve countries, this experience given him great understanding of many sectors and cultures.

Ben Fairbank: A Search for Better Solutions Leads to Crypto

Ben started looking for less expensive ways to send money from abroad to Australia after spending several years as an expat. Though acceptance was still poor at the time, cryptocurrencies showed promise. He started exploring the world of cryptocurrency and came to see he couldn’t miss this transformation.

Ben started to notice how businesses like Red Hat were implementing Linux and other models where better user experiences and products were being added to a great base technology layer. This inspired him and his co-founders to consider how they can create several linked goods, services, and tools to create a metaverse—where everything was showcased in one mega dApp.

Like his original vision of a coffee shop on the beach, this was the realization of friends thinking about company ideas and allowed Ben to concentrate on a few connected goods, services, and businesses.

Founding RFOX: Building a Metaverse for All

Ben and Glen Pearce started RFOX (previously Red FOX Labs) in 2018 with the intention of developing a platform totally focused on digital inclusion and seamless applications that would enable producers and consumers collaborate.

RFOX developed something they would be happy to utilize and show off. Early on, the founding team was informed that no one saw the metaverse or the use cases hence their proposal was either too ambitious or unattainable. But as the need of digital inclusion grew clearer, the Covid epidemic hastened the acceptance of digital platforms and RFOX’s drive to succeed.

RFOX has introduced a number of items linked to establish a multi-media creative platform in the metaverse. RFOX Finance manages token staking and farming; RFOX Games features play-to-earning games mixed with interoperable NFT collectibles and a soon-to-launch SDK.

RFOX TV is part of the company’s media arm giving TV, streaming, and direct minting; RFOX NFT is a complete contract farm using a website, marketplace, and creator tools for new collectibles; RFOX VALT is the VR virtual world linking all of the company’s product offers.

RFOX also intends to introduce RFOX E-commerce streaming, thereby enabling artists, makers, and performers to engage in real-time with a live audience while simultaneously promoting goods and services.

A View on the Asian Business Environment

Ben believes that while business conditions vary across Asian countries, the region as a whole holds great potential. Favorable tax policies in some nations and a young, tech-savvy population have made it more appealing to global companies. With over 4.5 billion people, Asia continues to shape industries as consumer spending drives new opportunities.

Ben stated, “We are witnessing GDPs rivaling China in nations like Vietnam, Indonesia and others that are fast growing awareness and entering the same debate as China, India, and Japan. Being here and seeing it change in real time is an amazing experience.
