Ronja the Robber’s Daughter will be adapted for a live-action series on Netflix!
The first look from the Netflix series has a gorgeous backdrop of hills and gushing fountains. The backdrop is set to the echoes of soaring eagles, anticipating the adventure ahead. In the face of potential danger, nature’s beauty shines bright.

The story follows a young girl raised by robbers in a medieval Scandinavian castle. Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter, is a tale of adventure, friendship, and rebellion.
Ronja ventures into a magnificent yet perilous forest, encountering wonders and worries alike. Her friendship with Birk, a teenager from a rival group, sparks a conflict that threatens to shatter their families. As a sneaky sheriff arrives searching for the robbers, Ronja & Birk have to work together to live in the woods and build their future.

The cast includes Kerstin Linden (Ronja), Krista Kosonen (Lovis), Sverrir Gudnason (Borka), Vera Vitali (Cappa), Maria Nohra (Undis), Jack Bergenholtz-Henriksson (Birk), Christopher Wagelin (Mattis), Pernilla August (Valdir), and Johan Ulveson.
Ronja the Robber’s Daughter is directed by Lisa James Larsson and was nominated for Best Short Film at the European Film Awards. Hans Rosenfeldt, who wrote “The Bridge” and “Marcella,” is credited with creating the series, which is now part of Netflix’s library of classic story adaptations. Filmlance produced the film alongside Bonnie Skoog Feeney & Mattias Arehn working as producers.
The Netflix series is divided into two parts. The first part of Ronja the Robber’s Daughter is set to be released for streaming on March 28th, and the second part later this year.
