Russia Developing an artificial intelligence program that simulates the criminal's mentality to help solve crimes

The Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology is developing an AI-based program to predict the actions of criminals.

The Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology is developing an AI-based program to predict the actions of serial criminals. This network will analyze data on past crimes and generate predictions about the time and place of future crimes.

The project is currently in the stage of developing technical specifications and testing individual components. After receiving the necessary funding, the Investigative Committee, the Supreme Court and other Russian government bodies with which contacts have been established will be involved in the project.

A neural network trained on crimes will be able to analyze criminals' actions, detect connections, predict the actions of serial criminals, and identify most possible dates and locations of crimes.

The program is planned to start analyzing crimes in Moscow in two or three years, and then could be rolled out to other regions of Russia. The neural network will use data on past crimes to identify and analyze common features, as well as predict future crimes.

AI will be able to spot connections that humans might miss. An important criterion for success will be the accuracy of predictions, which will depend on the size of the data and the computing power of the system.

Scientists have prepared 250 criminal files, on the basis of which the neural network will be trained.
