Scientists in Russia have developed artificial intelligence software that helps determine the level of white blood cells in the blood with high accuracy.
“We have developed artificial intelligence software that can determine the level of white blood cells in the blood with an accuracy of up to 90%. In the future, this technology may become the basis for developing a method for analyzing blood without using injections. Knowing the level of white blood cells is essential when diagnosing diseases, as an increase in their number may indicate the presence of inflammation or an infectious disease,” the press service of Innopolis University said in a statement.
The statement added: “Scientists at our university have collaborated with experts from the Research Center for Medical and Bio-Photonics of Turgenev University in Russia, and have proposed using artificial intelligence to analyze videos showing blood flow in capillaries, which are filmed with a special microscope. In the future, this method may be used to analyze blood and eliminate the need for injections to take blood samples.”
“Using this software can speed up the development of an innovative method for blood analysis,” said Daniil Afonchikov, a student at Turgenev University and one of the participants in developing the new software. “The unique thing about this method is that it will enable us to quickly identify the components of blood, without having to wait for laboratory test results as is currently the case.”
