It bills itself as the biggest art and antiques market in the world, but Saint-Ouen’s famed flea market is also known for the vast array counterfeit luxury goods on offer. Now, with Paris set to welcome millions of visitors when it hosts the 2024 Olympics, local authorities in the suburb are cracking down on the practice in an effort to clean up the market’s image.
