Jakarta - After using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset on the Galaxy S25 family released Friday (7/2) due to problems with the production of the Exynos 2500 SoC last year, Samsung is expected to return to using the Exynos chipset on the Galaxy S26 series.
According to South Korean publication The Bell as quoted by GSM Arena on Friday (7/2), Samsung Electronics initially planned to install the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy S25.
However, due to mass production delays of the chip , the Galaxy S25 was eventually equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Meanwhile, the pre-production process of the Exynos 2600 SoC is currently reportedly on schedule.
If nothing goes wrong, mass production of the chip is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 for use in the Galaxy S26 device that will be launched in January 2026.
The Exynos 2600 will be built using Samsung's 2nm SF2 process, which is expected to be stable for production in the second half of 2025.
The company is reportedly mobilizing resources so that the mass production of the Exynos 2600 can be carried out on time. Thus, the problems that occurred in the production of the Exynos 2500 SoC will not be repeated.
