The biographical drama Scoop, directed by Philip Martin, strives to track the efforts that went into getting Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview, which permanently ruined his reputation. The film is intriguing and full of twists and turns, presenting a reality that is even stranger than fiction.

“One hour on TV can affect everything.” The trailer begins with a voiceover depicting the media calling out Prince Andrew as the news of Jeffrey Epstein stunned the world.

In the November 2019 interview, the prince described his friendship with convicted s*xual predator Jeffrey Epstein. He tried to clear his name amidst sexual assault allegations made at him by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Guiffre. However, it proved the last nail in the coffin of his image in the media.

Following the broadcast, Andrew was deprived of numerous patronages and barred from using the title of His Royal Highness.

The trailer depicts three ladies trying to rig the interview by whatever means imaginable. The drama also follows the consequences of Andrew’s 2019 interview and how he later faced criticism.

The shocking interview highlights news reporters’ heroic efforts and quest for justice and truth. Overall, the movie includes wickedly funny elements and masterfully depicts journalists’ challenges and extremes to gain the Scoop on the truth for their audiences.
