- Kusama emphasized that decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) should take over leadership, ensuring continuity while he focuses on adoption efforts.
On X, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, announced that he is leaving behind his role as a lead visionary associated with the project. He added that the main reason he is taking this step is that he needs to change his focus.
Shiba Inu’s Shytoshi Kusama Reveals Reason Behind Latest Move
“For this reason, I will no longer be the lead visionary of Shiba Inu,” Kusama wrote. He added, “Why? Simply put, there is no more vision needed, only execution and communications. What’s needed is something different.”
Kusama shared that his new role will be as the “Shiba Inu lead ambassador,” a position aimed at guiding projects and partners in utilizing SHIB’s ecosystem technologies. “I will now be Shiba Inu LEAD AMBASSADOR (if you don’t mind). My job moving forward will be to guide projects interested in building with the 36 Chambers of Tech (rebranded to ShibOS simply because there are more than 36 now) and helping them implement global solutions at all levels with our technologies,” he explained, as previous mentioned in our report.
Further, the developer stated that the decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) should take over leadership while ensuring the continuity of the initiatives by Shiba Inu. “Finally, I’ll tie up loose ends, and ensure the smooth transition to control by the DAOs,” Kusama stated.
Kusama also mentioned his intention to push the adoption of Shiba Inu technologies worldwide. “What’s needed is that I, one of the few who can truly, and eloquently, describe the role and dominance of Shib, begin leading the charge towards Global Adoption,” he said.
In his message, he also introduced AstraNova, a new technology he plans to integrate into the Shiba Inu ecosystem. “Moreover, I will search for partners that bring new technologies like AstraNova into our stack making it more robust,” Kusama noted.
Reflecting on the change, he added a touch of humor: “Actually new mask as the old one is destroyed from months of travel, lol. I digress.” Moreover, Kusama said that the new structure can bring more potential success to Shiba Inu and its associated projects. He referred to his style as using “unique and sometimes unorthodox strategies” to raise the brand value of Shiba Inu and take associated technologies to new heights.
SHIB Price Drops Over 10%
The announcement had a negative impact on SHIB’s price as the meme coin nosedived over 10% in the trading session today. As of writing, the Shiba Inu price stood at $0.00001786, down by 10.63% on Monday, January 27. Furthermore, the market cap plunged to $10.6 billion. On the other hand, the 24-hour trading volume for SHIB skyrocketed 176.06% to $490.29 million.
This could mean heightened activity and interest among traders. While some could be seizing the opportunity by buying the dip, there’s a chance of significant sell pressure as investors fear losses. According to Coinglass, SHIB’s long liquidations hit a whopping $2.28 million, rightly indicating a massive sell pressure. It could further weigh on the price in the short term.
